Prize-winning historian Rupert Willoughby explores the domestic and social life of Simon de Montfort & his wife Eleanor, sister of Henry III. In this richly illustrated talk he leads the audience on a room by room tour of Odiham Castle, one time residence of the couple. He discusses clothing, literacy & language, the Montforts' turbulent married life, Simon's remarkable piety & ultimately his demise at the Battle of Evesham in 1265.
