The star of BBC TV's "Three Men In A Boat" and "They Think It's All Over" looks back on his life and varied career in comedy, writing, broadcasting, sailing, birdwatching & more. Join Rory as he remembers some bits and makes up the rest.
A familiar face on 'QI' and afloat with Dara O Briain and Griff Rhys Jones, Rory's TV career goes back to 1983 when he wrote & appeared in Channel 4's first "post-pub" comedy show 'Who Dares Wins'. He's done everything from sports-commentary to birdwatching - beginning with writing scripts for comedy greats like Frankie Howerd, Windsor Davies, 'Not the Nine O'Clock News' and 'Alas Smith and Jones'. Rory's birdwatching book 'Bearded Tit' was serialised on BBC radio - but his mother might not have read his memoir 'The Father, The Son, and The Ghostly Hole'.
Show contains adult themes and traces of peanut oil.
