Kristiana Ignatjeva - Cello

Latvian cellist Kristiana Ignatjeva is studying for her Artist Diploma at the Royal College of Music with professor Melissa Phelps. She has worked with many prominent musicians including Vladimir Ashkenazy, Jukka-Pekka Saraste, Pinchas Zukerman & Nicola Benedetti, won many international & national competitions & was recently awarded the Muriel Taylor Scholarship. Kristiana plays on an Italian cello by Matteo Goffriller kindly loaned by the Royal College of Music.

Tonight she plays Beethoven (Sonata for cello & piano in C major, op.102), Myaskovsky (Sonata for cello & piano op.12), Brahms (Sonata for cello & piano op.38), Piatigorsky (Variations on a Paganini Theme), Arensky (Romance op.56 no.2) accompanied by pianist Kumi Matsuo.
