Tim Stimson - painter, lecturer & art historian of the 17th & 19th centuries - explores the life & work of the Austrian Symbolist painter Gustav Klimt. Klimt's images of the femme fatale are definitive encapsulations of late 19th century decadence & sensuality - and have an enduring fascination. Locating him within the social milieu of Vienna and investigating his charming personality and idiosyncratic art, Tim Stimson celebrates his gloriously decorative works, exuberantly anticipating Art Deco. (Talk starts 8pm following EDFAS members' AGM).
