Folk in the Foyer: Ange Hardy & Lukas Drinkwater
Acclaimed singer-songwriter Ange Hardy & talented multi-instrumentalist Lukas Drinkwater launch their new album Findings with a BBC Radio 2 live session on 14th Sep. Evesham's Folk in the Foyer is the first date of their album tour, promising "Two vocalists, four guitars, harp, low whistles, loop pedals, stomp box, shutri box, folk songs & new songs"
Ange Hardy writes original, contemporary folk songs that you might mistake for traditional - often with a loop machine to layer her vocal harmonies. Her musical career began busking in Dublin & Galway; her early life became the material for a 2010 tour & debut album 'Windmills & Wishes'. Ange's second album 'Bare Foot Folk' established her as a folk artist, her 3rd 'Lament of The Black Sheep' shot her to fame. The most recent 'Esteesee' - setting the words of Samuel Taylor Coleridge to music - consolidated her status.
Ange's music has collected an ever-increasing list of recommendations, nominations & awards from the likes of Mike Harding, Iain Anderson, FATEA magazine, BBC Radio 2, the Daily Telegraph & Arts Council England.
"One of the bright stars of the new wave of folk singing... I really do like her stuff!" - Mike Harding
Plus support from local singer-songwriter Mike Weaver.
