Dickens Revisited: Bicentenary of his Birth

Dickens Revisited: Bicentenary of his Birth

Dickens was arguably the most celebrated of Victorian novelists, his own life story as colourful & eventful as any of his characters, affected by poverty, injustice, negligence & loneliness. In this lecture this unique product of the great industrial age shows that his legacy lives on even after 200 years.

Presented by Jane Tapley, Special Events Organiser at the Theatre Royal Bath. She arranges book launches and interviews with authors from today’s novelists such as Joanna Trollope, Melvyn Bragg and Rosamund Pilcher, and also lectures on Dickens, Jane Austen and Georgian Theatre.
