Wed 8th at 8:00pm - Charles Darwin & the voyage of HMS Beagle (EDFAS)
Darwin's radical theories developed from a remarkable global voyage in HMS 'Beagle' (1831-1836) via the Galapagos Islands. This talk by James Taylor, former curator of Paintings, Drawings and Prints at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, features the work of official artists Augustus Earl and Conrad Martens to illustrate the Darwin story.

The Midlands final of the 2008 All-England one-act play competition.

The evening session includes 'After the Picnic' by David Foxton and 'How to Talk About the Arts' by Jean Tardieu. All the plays are 30-60 minutes and performed by the winners of local competitions.
